Types of anchor chains
Anchor chain refers to a special chain that connects the anchor and the hull and transmits the anchor's grip. It is often composed of anchor end links, intermediate links and end links. The length of the anchor chain is measured in sections, and the standard length of each anchor chain is 27.5m. The internodes are connected with connecting links or connecting shackles. Usually, the chain length of the main anchor on each side of the 10,000-ton ship is about 12 knots.
1. Classification by manufacturing method:
There are cast steel anchor chains, flash welded anchor chains, and forged anchor chains, but now they are basically flash welded anchor chains.
2. According to the chain ring structure:
There are anchor chains with stalls and anchor chains without stalls, and marine anchor chains are basically stalled anchor chains.
3. According to the purpose:
Marine anchor chain and marine mooring chain, warship anchor chain (generally also mooring chain).
4. According to the steel grade:
The marine chain is divided into four levels: M1, M2, M3, and M4, and the mooring chain is divided into R3, R3S, R4, R4S, R5\R6\R7
5. According to the surface treatment points:
Black paint anchor chain, galvanized anchor chain.
