Wire Rope Connection Method
There are two types of wire rope connection methods: small connection method and large connection method.
The small joint is within the joint range, and the strands of the two ropes are combined, so the rope head becomes thicker and its joint length is shorter.
The big connection method cuts the strands of the two rope ends in half, and then connects the two rope ends together. The location of the connector is not apparent on the surface.
When the wire rope is used as a sling, it needs to be inserted manually before it can become a sling, commonly known as the small connection method. There are generally 5 types of wire rope insertion methods; namely, one-in-one insertion method, one-in-two insertion method, one-in-three insertion method, one-in-four and one-in-five insertion method. Commonly used is the one-into-three-plug method, and the one-into-five-plug method is mostly used for the summary of wire ropes.
1. When the steel wire rope is fixed by braiding, the length of the braiding shall not be less than 20 times the diameter of the steel wire rope, and not less than 0.3 meters. Thin steel wires should be bundled in the braiding part.
2. When the wire rope is fixed by wire rope clips, the number shall not be less than three, and the distance between one clip and the rope head shall not be less than 0.14 meters. The rope clamp plate should be on the side where the force is applied. The "U" bolts must be at the end of the wire rope, and must not cross in both directions. The clip should be tightened so that the diameter of the two ropes is about 1/3 of the height. After the rope clamp is fixed, it should be tightened again after the wire rope is stressed.
